The role we are looking to fill is that of a desk-based developer working with the European Equity Derivative desk based in London. On a day-to-day basis the role will involve utilising a variety of technologies that are geared to providing extremely fast time to market. The initial focus will require an extremely high level of Excel/VBA with a view to integrate existing solutions into the more structured Excel framework (C#). C# skills are highly desirable but an eagerness to learn will be sufficient. Knowledge of other core strategic technologies Java, Oracle, Sybase, XML should also be considered a compelling, though not essential, competency. The candidate will be expected to be work on potentially several different tasks simultaneously; the tasks are likely to be tactical in nature with very short timelines. Effective time management and client skills will be critical. (Requirements) The successful applicant will have a strong focus on delivery to the business and a will have to rapidly learn about the bank's Equities business and its interactions with other parts of the bank. The candidate will be expected to liaise with senior level Trading / Derivative internal clients (Ds thru MDs) and credibility in domain knowledge, delivery experience as well as relationship building skills with such clients will be essential.
